Morning Coffee: Shirts by Ben, Beach Club Invitational and February
One of my bigger challenges is keeping the content on this site fresh while producing the monthly magazine in the background. Other than the news clips in the magazine, I try to keep the content for each unique, which means the workload can get heavy. So, I'm constantly tweaking the website editorial calendar and have not yet come up with a final formula. Still, I've taken another look and have determined that I will drop the monthly "Opening Game" column. It comes at an ackward time and it pretty much mirrors my "Opening Shot" letter in the magazine. So, I'll probably give a brief take on my thoughts for the upcoming month in the "Croquet News" posts that I do.
My thought as February kicks off is that I'm thankful to finally see some signs of real croquet around the corner. I have three meetings planned this month with two occuring this week. You'll hear more about those later, but mainly, I'm ready to get into the 2010 season and the arrival of these planning meetings is a nice little fix. In other news ...
Ben Rothman has posted some cool croquet shirt designs on his blog. The polo style shirts are $35 plus shipping. Definitely worth checking out along with his write up on the Desert Classic tournament at Mission Hills -- complete with several great photos.
Chris Patmore defeated Tim Bitting 15-13 to win the Beach Club Invitational championship flight. The event concluded this past weekend and was held at the Beach Club and the National Croquet Center. A full write-up and results are available in the America's Forum on the Croquet World website.
