MALLET SHOW SET FOR NATIONALS: Mallet makers are invited to show off their gear during the upcoming United States Croquet Association (USCA) American Rules National tournament held at the Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, CA, November 6-12, 2011. The Mallet Showcase will take place on Thursday, November 10. Exact time to be announced.

This special event will enable all attendees and mallet makers to enjoy mallet discussions along with contests, hoop shoots, refreshments, voting contests and a big manufacturer’s announcement. PENN STATE CLUB: The PSU Croquet Club was recently featured in an article by the school newspaper. Looks like the club is seeking competition:

“Hopefully we’re able to find other schools to play. We’ve been waiting for the chance to play someone else and play more competitively,” Mitchell said.

TAPPING INTO U.S. CROQUET HISTORY: A club in Norwich, Connecticut is looking to re-build what seems to be a pretty good croquet tradition for the city. Excerpt:

The city was the annual site of the croquet national championships and fielded the national champions in both 1882 and 1886. In 1899, when game officials decided to revise the rules, Norwich played host to the meeting, Kyle said.
