2017 MacRobertson Shield to California

The Mission Hills Croquet Club in Ranch Mirage, CA has announced that it has submitted a bid to host the next MacRobertson International Croquet Shield in 2017. The bid must be approved by all four MacRobertson Shield countries. The United States has only hosted the event one previous time -- at the National Croquet Center in West Palm Beach, FL in 2003.

The MacRobertson Shield, known as the "MacRob" or the "Mac," is a Major Croquet Event, the premier croquet team competition in the world. The Mac is now played every three or four years in rotation among the four competing countries, Australia, England, New Zealand and the USA. The first match was held in 1925 between Australia and England. New Zealand joined the competition in 1935 and the United States in 1993.

The exact dates have yet not been confirmed, but it is projected to be held the last two weeks in April and the first week in May of 2017.
