Bromley #06: GCWC Block Action Winding Down
Sherif Abdelwahab and Mohammad Kamal continued to put in impressive performances today with both players now 7-1 with one block match remaining.

In Abdelwahab's second match of the day, he faced George Coulter, age 20, the older of the two brothers from New Zealand who are absolutely fantastic shooters! The "young guns" are well-coached, composed and wonderful young men. The match went to three games and at the 13th hoop while attempting to clear Abdelwahab's ball, Coulter peeled it through to give Abdelwahab the win. Abdelwahab's final block match on Wednesday will be against the Aussie Edward Wilson who is currently undefeated in their block.
While that match was going on, I had my work cut out for me against younger brother, Angus Coulter, age 16. He only started playing two years ago after being introduced to the sport from his grandfather and brother and is currently #156 in the world. He was New Zealand's Most Improved Player in 2016. Although I played well, I lost 7-5, 7-4.
Kamal will next face Egypt's Walid Wahban before heading into the top 32 Knock Out with Abdelwahab.
Matt Griffith, a truly great competitor, left everything out on the lawn, but unfortunately dropped two, three-game matches 7-6 in the final games of each. After his final block match tomorrow he and I will both head into the Plate (consolation) competition.
