Sign Up for the 2023 Blue Crab Croquet Tournament

The Chesapeake Bay Croquet Club is pleased to announce 2023 Blue Crab Croquet Tournament, set to take place from September 14-17, 2023. Croquet enthusiasts from across the nation are invited to participate in this exciting American Six Wicket tournament, featuring both singles and doubles matches.

Tournament Highlights:

  • Hosted by the Chesapeake Bay Croquet Club, the tournament is fully sanctioned by the United States Croquet Association (USCA), ensuring the highest standards of play and sportsmanship.

  • The tournament format will include block play, with all participants advancing to the playoffs. Players will be grouped into flights based on their skill levels, ensuring a fair and competitive environment.

  • Doubles matches will utilize a high/low format, allowing players of different skill levels to team up and showcase their teamwork on the croquet court.

Entry Details:

  • Entry Fee: Participants can secure their spot by paying an entry fee of $195, which covers lunches and a reception. Players aged 30 and under enjoy a special rate of $95.

  • Registration Deadline: To be a part of this event, players must register by September 7, 2023. Limited spots may be available for late registrations if space permits. For late registration inquiries, please email maceywhite@gmail.com.

Event Location:

  • The tournament will be held at the picturesque Chesapeake Bay Croquet Club, situated at 1860 Twiggs Ferry Rd., Hartfield, VA 23071. The tranquil surroundings and pristine croquet lawns provide the perfect backdrop for a competitive yet enjoyable experience.

Tournament Schedule:

  • Wednesday: Participants can refine their skills during clinics and practice sessions. The day concludes with a reception, dinner, and player briefing at 6:00 p.m.

  • Thursday: The tournament kicks off with block play starting at 8:30 a.m.

  • Saturday: Playoffs commence, determining the finalists.

  • Saturday Evening: Blue Crab Feast (available a la carte)

  • Sunday: Finals

Dress Code:

  • For tournament attire, colors are preferred.  Whites are not required.  Proper attire includes a collared shirt, sweaters, slacks or Bermuda-length shorts. Please refrain from wearing blue jeans, swimwear, or sweatpants (except in cold conditions).  Attire with vulgar language or images is not allowed.
