Croquet England Seeks Interim CEO to Lead New Chapter
Croquet England has announced a call for applications for an Interim Chief Executive Officer. The appointment comes on the heels of the organization’s recent transformation from an unincorporated association to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) in 2023, and its successful first year of operations as a CIO in 2024.
The role is designed to build on the momentum generated during this transformative period. The Interim CEO will report directly to the Board of Trustees and will be responsible for steering the organization’s operational and day-to-day activities, ranging from administrative and commercial functions to financial management, communication, and the sporting side of croquet.
Key responsibilities include:
Strategic Direction and Leadership: Guiding the implementation of Croquet England’s overall strategy and embedding its core values throughout the organization.
Executive Management: Leading the Executive team, chairing meetings, and working closely with the Treasurer to ensure financial stability.
Board Collaboration: Advising the Board of Trustees on policy formulation and providing updates on strategic and operational progress.
Team Oversight: Managing the Operations Manager and supervising key volunteer roles, including Executive Directors.
The appointment is on a volunteer basis, with expenses covered. The role is predominantly remote, utilizing the candidate’s own IT hardware while benefiting from a Microsoft Office 365 account for communication and collaboration. The Executive Board will convene monthly online, with the Trustees meeting on three occasions prior to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled for October.
Croquet England is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic leader who can navigate this interim phase with both vision and pragmatism. While prior experience or knowledge of croquet is considered an advantage, it is not essential. The organization is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment, welcoming applications from candidates of all backgrounds.
