2018 States Shield Roster Deadline

The 2018 Croquet Network States Shield deadline for all rosters is next Friday, May 18 at 6:00 p.m. eastern US time. All state team directors should submit up to eight players for their initial rosters by the deadline. While only three players actually play during an individual test, the larger roster gives team directors flexibility to make adjustments to their starting line-ups between the qualification round and the championship without appealing to the other team directors.

SOUTHEAST EXPANSION CHALLENGES

While up to seven states have been involved in the attempt to build a southeastern quad qualifier, the challenge has been on agreeing to a venue and dates. So far, no agreement has been met and the southeast expansion is certainly in question.

CENTRAL QUAD CHANGE-UP

The Central Quad experienced a set back when Texas backed out of their commitment to play in the event. Fortunately, Colorado has stepped in last minute and is ready to join Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma over the June 16-17 weekend for the Central Qualifier at the Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The Midwestern Quad Qualifier with Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota and Wisconsin has been steady and they are also set to meet on the June 16-17 weekend in at the Milwaukee Croquet Club in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

2018 SHIELD CHAMPIONSHIP

The Shield Championship will be hosted by the Milwaukee Croquet Club in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, August 18-19, 2018. The plan is for the three quad champions and the best performing second place team to advance for a four-team championship.
