USCA Publisher Account Hacked

To all contacts related to the USCA's Croquet News magazine, the e-mail account was hacked and utilized to send out a spam link to all e-mail addresses. Yahoo did suspend the account relatively quickly. I have gained back control of the account at this point; however, it is still suspended from sending e-mail. You can still send mail in as I will receive it and hopefully this suspension will be lifted soon.

USCA Club Teams Championship Draws Big

The largest croquet team event of the year will be held during Croquet Week at the National Croquet Center in West Palm Beach, Florida, March 13-17. The Club Teams Championships will feature team competition in at least four flights with croquet clubs competing from across the country and the U.S. Virgin Islands.  More than 130 players will be competing.

USCA Petition Means Opportunity for AC Players

The WCF has heard an appeal from the USCA International Committee and allocated an additional place in the WCF World Championship. The details are on the WCF website, but the spot is awarded through a guaranteed wildcard place and means the United States has effectively moved from six to seven spots.

Greenwich Croquet Club Elects New President

Passing of the MalletGREENWICH, CT -- After eight years as President of the Greenwich Croquet Club, Greenwich CT, Barbara Leeming (left) retired and passed the mallet to newly elected President, Lee Kennedy (right) setting a new club tradition. The mallet will be aptly named the Leeming President’s Mallet to be held by Kennedy until the next president is elected. The official ceremony took place at the club’s annual Christmas Dinner Party in Greenwich on December 14.

Other officers and directors elected included William Dordelman, Vice President; William Duncan, Treasurer; Ian Sidey, Secretary; Ann Hall Elser, Director; and Cynthia Chang Scanlan, Director. Kennedy, a resident of Sleepy Hollow NY will be the eighth president since the club was founded in 1988, and is also an original member of the Sorrento Croquet Club in Maine. USCA's GC Nationals Kicks Off

Twenty-one players took to the courts yesterday for the start of the USCA’s 2012 Golf Croquet National Championship held at the Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California.  At least five former National Champions will be on hand including, Sherif Abdelwahab of West Greenwich, RI, US Team Captain, Ben Rothman the Mission Hills Club Pro and 2010 Champion, both of whom just returned from the Golf
