WEST PALM BEACH, FL -- It's Selection Eights eve and all through West Palm Beach, AC players are snug in their beds with visions of triples dancing in their heads. Anyway, the news of the day is that the National Croquet Center now has lights available for courts one, two and three. Sources here tell me that they would like to add more. No matter what, it would seem to be a huge benefit to scheduling overall at the Center.

2015 USCA Selection Eights Process

The USCA has posted the initial list of applicants for the 2015 Selection Eights event to be held October 22-25 at the National Croquet Center in West Palm Beach, Florida. There is a limit of 40 players who will participate in the 2015 Selection Eights with a possibility of a sixth group. If that group is formed, all players will be notified. Below is a list of the 40 players followed by the players in the sixth group and waiting lists. The non-top forty players lists are in D-Grade order which will also be the order players move from the these lists to the top 40. In years past there have been eight to twelve players drop out.

Fulford's Gets His Eleventh Open Championship

LONDON, ENGLAND -- Robert Fulford claimed his record 11th Croquet Association Open Championship with a 26-6, 26-19 win over Paddy Chapman today at the Surbiton Croquet Club in London. It was his second straight Open title and he previously had a series of three straight wins from 2006-2008. John Solomon won six straight during 1963-1968.

2015 CA Open: Chapman vs Fulford

The 2015 Open Championships being held at the Surbiton Croquet Club in London this week has successfully narrowed down to Paddy Chapman and Robert Fulford for the finals to be held on Sunday, July 15, 2015. Chapman made is way by going through Robert Wilkinson (2-1), Ben Rothman (2-1), David Maugham (2-0) and James Death (2-0). Death was on his own path prior to facing Chapman as he knocked off Luc Berthouse (2-0), Jose Riva (2-0) and Reg Bamford (2-1).

Fulford had a bye in the first round of the knockout then took out Robert Hurst (2-0), Stephen Mulliner (2-0) and Jamie Burch (2-1).

Americans Rothman and Hurst after making the final knockout had the unique distinction of being eliminated by the two finalists.

2017 MacRobertson Shield to California

The Mission Hills Croquet Club in Ranch Mirage, CA has announced that it has submitted a bid to host the next MacRobertson International Croquet Shield in 2017. The bid must be approved by all four MacRobertson Shield countries. The United States has only hosted the event one previous time -- at the National Croquet Center in West Palm Beach, FL in 2003.
