The St Johns croquet team came to Hartfield, Virginia to play a challenge match with the Chesapeake Bay Croquet Club. In all, 30 players competed in this two-day tournament. The first day was all American 6-Wicket and the second day was all Golf Croquet. Both days had two flight and were played in the Swiss format where winners play winners and losers play losers and all players played the same number of games.

We are all experiencing difficulties due to COVID-19 (coronavirus) with circumstances changing rapidly. The USCA is monitoring all safety and health decisions and guidelines made by the federal and state governments and will continue to make our decisions in advance so that everyone has time to revise their plans accordingly.

The USCA has issued the following letter from President Sara Low announcing the cancellation of the 2020 Croquet Week events due to the coronavirus:
Over the last few days we have received several inquiries as to the USCA’s response to COVID-19, and particularly now as this virus has been identified in Florida. The safety of USCA members, event participants and staff is and remains our highest priority. The USCA office and Management Committee are closely monitoring the World Health Organization, the Center for Disease Control, and local health agency websites and bulletins for updates and guidance.

The Chesapeake Bay Croquet Club will host the 2020 Women’s International Friendship Cup October 20-25, 2020. The event will feature golf croquet play and top women croquet players from across the world are expected to participate. The Friendship Cup is open to women players of all ages and abilities.

I am sorry to report that there is a misleading error in the State Membership Trends feature in the current print version 2018 Volume 3 edition of the USCA's Croquet News. The two chart legends have the wrong regions relative to the colors on the charts. The digital edition and the web edition on the USCA website have been corrected. We will run a correction in the next print issue as well and I apologize for the confusion. The corrected chart is also included below for reference.
