History of the WCF Hall of Fame
Since its establishment in 2006, the WCF Hall of Fame has honored 51 exceptional individuals who have left an indelible mark on the world of croquet. These inductees encompass not only exceptional players but also administrators, coaches and benefactors who have significantly contributed to the sport's growth and enjoyment.
Founded in 1986, the World Croquet Federation holds paramount the principle of recognizing those who contribute to the achievement of its goals. This ethos is enshrined in the WCF Statutes (102.2.12) and mirrors the practices of other professions and sports that acknowledge outstanding achievements through awards and accolades.
The WCF Hall of Fame inaugurated on January 2, 2006, embodies this commitment by bestowing regular awards upon deserving recipients. This virtual platform showcases the inductees and their remarkable accomplishments on the WCF website.
Nominations Process
Nominations for the WCF Hall of Fame are accepted annually until September 30. Submissions received after this date will be evaluated in the subsequent year. The Hall of Fame Committee deliberates on the nominations until November 30. The WCF Management Committee reserves the right to directly nominate one individual each year for automatic induction. Detailed procedures for nominations and evaluations are outlined in the WCF Regulations.
New inductees are publicly announced in December, and whenever feasible, an induction ceremony is scheduled at a WCF Event within the year following the induction.
