Teams from Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin descended upon the Milwaukee Croquet Club for a weekend of friendly and spirited golf croquet competition at Lake Park in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After a meet and greet and practice on Friday evening, Saturday’s matches paired Illinois against Minnesota and Indiana and Wisconsin. The format was a best of 10 game test featuring an opening doubles game followed by players playing each of the other three opponents in singles games.

The 2018 Croquet Network Midwest Quad Qualifier has announced starting lineups and PDF schedules for day one are available below. The Quad Qualifier takes place this Saturday and Sunday at the Milwaukee Croquet Club in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The day one matchups include Midwest #1 seed Wisconsion against expansion team #4 Indiana. Illinois is the #2 seed and will face off against #3 seed and expansion team Minnesota.

Both Kansas and Indiana made successful post deadline roster request appeals for the 2018 Croquet Network States Shield over the past week. Kansas added Carl Archiniaco after losing two-time starter Darin Watson near the orginal roster deadline. Archiniaco is based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and was an alternate on the Oklahoma team who is now looking forward to getting some shield experience with the Kansas team. The Central Quad Qualifier will be held this Saturday and Sunday in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

The 2018 Croquet Network States Shield deadline for all rosters is next Friday, May 18 at 6:00 p.m. eastern US time. All state team directors should submit up to eight players for their initial rosters by the deadline. While only three players actually play during an individual test, the larger roster gives team directors flexibility to make adjustments to their starting line-ups between the qualification round and the championship without appealing to the other team directors.
