This year’s GC Nationals will be held in the Cashiers/Highlands area of North Carolina during May 15–22, 2022. The matches are being played at High Hampton, the Chattooga Club, Country Club of Sapphire Valley and Highlands Falls Country Club. These four magnificent croquet venues will be used with players rotating on a daily basis between these venues. The USCA is very appreciative of these fine clubs hosting the tournament games for this 2022 USCA National Championship.

After a review of the current system, it was discovered that half handicaps have not been counted as full handicap steps. This primarily effects handicaps below 5 and the changes are mostly in losing points rather than gaining points.

The inaugural Women’s Hurricane Golf Croquet Open tournament was held at the National Croquet Center in West Palm Beach, Florida on January 20-23, 2022.
The tournament was hosted by the women of the National Croquet Club and managed by Priscilla Flowers and Cami Russack. Macey White was the tournament director. 56 players signed up and represented all levels of GC play, from beginners to the best, including six of the top ten active female players in America; Helen Covington, Cheryl Bromley, Debbie Davidoff, Eileen Soo, Lynda Sudderberg, and Vicky Naranjo.

For players planning on participating in any USCA Regional or USCA National Championship in any of the four major forms of croquet in the US this year, there is a prequalification process for the allocation of places in the USCA National Championships. It can be found in Article IV of the Standing Orders that are available in the Members Only section, under forms on the web / membership platform.

The program will offer up to $1,000 per applicant for promotion in one of the four croquet rule sets that we govern in America (US, AC, GC, 9W).
