About the Chesapeake Bay Croquet Club
In 2016, the CBCC built eight new laser-leveled courts. There is a dining facility that will seat over 120 people and have a courtside clubhouse with locker rooms and lounge. Chesapeake Bay’s signature touch will always be local seafood as a choice for dinner and home cooked breakfast and courtside lunches every day. At CBCC, the goal is to treat guests to the best southern hospitality and southern coastal cuisine that can be found anywhere.
All of tournaments include free coaching clinics and practice court time on the first day. Meals are available at the club. In some tournaments, the meal package is included with the entry and in some it is separate. Lunch is served courtside on all days including practice/clinic day. There is a full country-style breakfast every morning of tournament play. Typically, the first night has an opening reception with a grill-style meal. The second night is an informal meal at the courtside clubhouse. The third night will be a feature dinner which always include local delights like steamed crabs, oysters, rockfish and other seafood that is in season. Of course, there will always be red meat, poultry and a few plants for the vegans to graze on. The chef has even been known to scare up a soy burger when asked.
The CBCC welcomes croquet players of all skill levels and all ages. All tournaments have high-level challenging play for championship flight and appropriately challenging flights for all skill levels. Anyone wishing to improve their game (including guests) can participate in the clinics on day one. There is also resident pro and classes can be scheduled through the club.
