Entering the final day of play with six singles matches on the schedule, Team USA needed just one match win over Great Britain to claim the 2023 Solomon Trophy. The test was held over four days at the Sarasota County Croquet Club in Venice, Florida, and U.S. fans didn’t have to wait long on Sunday as Zack Watson ended the suspense early with a test-clinching 26tp-0, 26tp-0 win over Gabrielle Higgins.

Day two of the 2023 Solomon Trophy test between the U.S. and Great Britain saw the first round of singles split at 3-3 to keep the overall score deadlocked at 5-5. Playing at the Sarasota County Coquet Club (SCCC) in Venice, Florida, Team USA jumped out fast on Friday winning the first game in five out of the six matches.

The World Croquet Federation has announced that Amir Ramsis will become acting President. Ramsis is Vice-President of the Egyptian Croquet Federation and has served on the WCF Management Committee since 2003. The election for a new WCF President, along with other posts on the Management Committee, will take place during November-December with the successful candidates taking up their posts on January 1, 2012. The action never stops in the world of croquet, but this week we've got a big one on deck. It's Solomon Trophy time and Great Britain is looking for revenge after the U.S. ended the U.K. reign by winning their first test in the series in December of 2009 on a rainy final day in Rancho Mirage, California. As we head into the 2011 Solomon test, both teams are sporting strong line-ups, so we could be treated to another thriller as the American team will be desperate to hold onto their hard-earned trophy.
