The USCA has announced two new changes to the Management Committee. Doug Moore joins the team as the new treasurer replacing David Isaacs and Bev Cardo is the new secretary, taking over for Rob Byrd. Both Isaacs and Byrd have agreed to stay on the Finance Committee.

The Plate blocks were split between Paraparaumu and Waikanae today, while the main knockout started at Kelburn and Wellington. The Plate format is eight blocks of five or six players each, the eight block winners advancing to a knockout. The only triple of the day at Paraparaumu was by Alain Giraud (ENG) and featured an adventurous finish.

2016 US Open: Elimination Blocks (Day 4)

For the first time in its 29-year history, the United States Open did not have a single-elimination playoff. Instead, each flight of ten players was reduced to two round-robins of four players each, seeded according to the block results. The winners will advance to the finals. There was some trepidation in the players, but I thought it worked well.

2016 United States Open: Opening Party
The 2016 United States Open is being held at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, CA, on December 6-10. It is hosted by the Mission Hills Croquet Club.
The opening party was held at the 55th Hole bar at the Country Club. Twenty players and nine guest attended the gala. Tournament Director Rory Kelley, demurred, and Assistant Tournament Director Doug Grimsley presided.
US AC Nationals Final Four
RANCHO MIRAGE, CA -- The USCA National Association Rules Championship has narrowed down to Stuart Lawrence, Doug Grimsley, Brian Cumming and David Maloof. The quarterfinal action had Stuart Lawrence over Mike Todorovich 26tp-0, 26-18. Doug Grimsley took out Jim Hanks 26-0, 26tp-10. Brian Cumming worked past Paul Bennett 26tp-9, 0-26tp, 26-23, while David Maloof beat Sherif Abdelwahab 26tp-0, 26-18.
