The Annapolis Cup rivalry between the Johnnies of St. John's College and the midshipmen of the U.S. Naval Academy, is set to return on April 15, 2023. The nine-wicket test began in 1982 but was forced to take a two-year hiatus in 2020 and 2021. Last year the Naval Academy hosted got the win to end a five-year win streak for the Johnnies.

A few media sources are "reporting" that St. John's took the annual Annapolis Cup event. One is indicating a score of 3-1, which doesn't explain what happened to the fifth game. With the win, St. John's now leads the series 24-5 over Navy. The Johnnies have now taken six straight over Navy.
