The MC has been in discussion with Croquet New Zealand regarding the three World Championships scheduled for early 2022. Current outbreaks in Australia have led to lockdowns in both Australia and New Zealand and their nationwide travel bubble is again on hold. Travel into New Zealand currently requires an expensive two week isolation in a hotel and there is little indication of when this requirement might be lifted. Additionally, there is a clear risk that further lockdowns may be imposed in either country.

Wrap Up: US Rules SE Regional at Pinehurst
The 2021 Southeast Regional American 6-Wicket Croquet Tournament was held June 10-13, 2021, at the beautiful Pinehurst Resort. The courts were in good shape and players of all flights came ready to play high-level croquet.
Cloudy skies prevailed through the tournament with occasional showers, but that did not disrupt play enough to get the tournament off of its heavy-play schedule. Forty-three players vied for championships in singles and doubles on four courts over four days. Play started each day at 8:00 a.m., and on some days, didn’t end until 7:00 p.m.
The 2021 Rockfish Rocks!
The 2021 Rockfish Golf Croquet Tournament was a great event. 33 players from all over the US came to Chesapeake Bay to play, socialize and have fun.
Many players did not already have a World Croquet Federation (WCF) grade which made seeding players difficult, so everyone was placed into the same flight as one big knockout.

What a show! In my eight or so years of playing American 6-Wicket, I have never seen a player finish a game with a triple peel, and yet this past weekend, Matthew Essick finished three of his last four games with a triple. In the semi-final match against Zack Watson, Matthew won both games by scoring all of the hoops with his second ball while peeling (scoring his partner ball) through the last three hoops and then pegging both balls out on the center stake winning 26tp-0 and 26tp-13. Essick did the same in one of his games in the finals against current American 6-Wicket National Champion, Randy Cardo, winning 26tp-5 and 26-0.
