The Buffalo Croquet Club is excited to announce its 7th Annual 6-Wicket Invitational Tournament, taking place from August 17-20, 2023. This USCA-sanctioned American 6-Wicket tournament will be held at Delaware Park and will feature singles and doubles matches, with white attire required.

After four years in one player's hands, the "Bronze Buffalo" has a new champion. Chris Patmore (center) won the 2022 Buffalo Croquet Club Sixth Annual 6-Wicket Invitational this past August, unseating Tim Rapuano (right), who has held the title since 2018.

You know it’s August in Buffalo when the white-attired women and men adorn the croquet lawns of Delaware Park for their annual tournament and tradition. The 6th Annual Buffalo Croquet Club 6-Wicket Invitational brings some of the top American croquet players to the city every year to compete for cash and a chance to have their name inscribed on the legendary “bronze buffalo.”

Morning Coffee: The Loss of a Leader
The murder of WCF President Charles Jones in Thailand last week is still the news that haunts the croquet world. There was an update in that a suspect has been arrested. In the meantime, there has only been a short statement released on the WCF website and I suspect the shock of such an event has everyone a bit paralyzed. After all, there is very little precedent for such an event in sports. And perhaps, a moment of quiet is what is best for the croquet world. Despite the fact that I never knew Charles, the international club of croquet creates a bond and I know that players across the world were saddened by this senseless loss.
