Morning Coffee: Fargo South Claims Midwest High School Title

Visit the Store The 2011 Midwest High School Croquet Championship was held this past Friday night at the Sports Bubble in Fargo, North Dakota and Fargo South came out as the champion in a tight race. Over 50 students participated in the championship and about 120-150 spectators were on hand to watch the action. The format was nine-wicket cutthroat style with 45 minute time limits. Illinois News Channel Takes A Croquet Challenge


Wow. A positive news piece on croquet that doesn't fall under the category of "isn't it funny that these people play croquet." The wickets are massive, doubles are too tight, boundaries off, but still ... it's a televised game of partner ball croquet. I'm shocked. A refreshing change of pace. It also demonstrates why you don't run up to hit the ball in croquet.

With the win, St. John's now leads the series 24-5 over Navy. The Johnnies have now taken six straight over Navy.
